WITH Maidenhead cancelling their scheduled fixture due to County commitments, Chippenham Under 14s, entertained the Gloucester side, Widden Old Boys at Allington Field on Sunday.
This saw the team continue their success for this current season with a comfortable win over Widden Old Boys.
The superiority in the backs and outstanding support play gave Chippenham the chance to run in seven tries.
The Chippenham team were too strong all round for the Widden Old Boys team and Chippenham's dominance allowed their coaches to give the whole a squad a run-out on the pitch.
The fact Chippenham continued to score throughout the match irrespective of which players were actually on the pitch at any time, just highlights and underlines the strength of this age group.
Team captain and centre, Tom Boreham led the way with a hat-trick of tries and four conversions.
There were also tries for wingers Ollie Morris and Tristan Spencer, hooker Ryan Doggett and flanker Andrew Bailey.
Widden managed to score a consolation try when they finally managed to outflank the Chippenham fefence for their full-back to touch down wide out.
Widden to their credit, contributed fully a generally high quality match.
After this win, Chippenham must now turn their attention to their Dorset and Wiltshire Cup final.
The final will be against Wimborne on Sunday and the team will be attempting to remain unbeaten by any team from the two counties on 15-a-side rugby.
