CHIPPENHAM got back to winning ways after a series of defeats.
Chippenham started slowly and allowed Minety to dominate the early phases of play. After a quarter of an hour, a Minety forward broke off the back of the scrum, beat the cover defence and went over to score a try.
Chippenham immediately responded and James Cook drove through the Minety defence to score. Ceri Morris had an easy kick to give a 7-5 scoreline.
Straight from the restart, Chippenham's Chris Mooney ran at the Minety defence, passing the ball out to Tim Murrow who passed on to James Cook and finally Ben Chamberlain. He beat three defenders to score a magnificent try under the posts which was converted to give Chippenham a 14-5 lead.
Another break by Chippenham saw Morris chip through the Minety defence and fall over the line to score another try, which he converted and saw Chippenham with a 21-5 lead at the break.
The second half was dominated from the start by Chippenham and further tries soon followed from Chris Cook, James Cook and team captain Ian Bannister who ended a fine inter-passing by the Chippenham packs.
Jon Billet received the ball from Murrow, after anther fine break from Chris Cook, to score. Straight from the kick-off, Mike Wheeler caught the ball, passed out to the backs and another display of fine passing, James Cook went over the try line to complete a hat-trick of tries.
The final score saw Jon Billet run from his own half, beating the Minety cover defence to score under the posts to give a 59-5 victory to Chippenham.
