CHIPPENHAM were comfortably beaten by Minety.
They immediately put pressure on the Chippenham defence which held firm until a break from the Minety number eight from the back of a scrum resulted in the first try of the game.
Minety were able to capitalise on errors committed by the Chippenham defence and added two more tries shortly afterwards to give the home side a 19-0 lead after just half an hour.
Chippenham finally mounted some pressure towards the end of the half. Dave Burrows took the ball on the crash and crossed the line to score Chippenham's opening points.
Dan Reynolds took the resulting conversion, making sure the kick counted to give a 19-7 scoreline going into the half-time break.
In the second half Chippenham mounted some pressure on the home side but the Minety defence soaked it up.
Minety increased their lead in the dying minutes of the game. Two further tries were scored, one of which was converted to give Minety the victory.
