CHIPPENHAM NEWS: PUPILS at a Chippenham school had a chance to show off their artistic flair during creative arts week.
About 340 children at Ivy Lane Primary School took part in a range of activities including circus skills, music workshops and a visit to a museum in Bath.
A teacher from Sheldon School helped the youngsters fine-tune their melodies.
Using black and white paper, the primary school children helped make a paper village which was finished on the last day of term. Different classes were responsible for separate parts of the village such as houses and vehicles.
This year's creative arts week theme was opposites and teacher Anna Lawrence, who helped organise the action-packed five days, said all pupils had enjoyed getting involved.
"The week lets children experience lots of different arts and get practically involved," she said.
"It is a nice opportunity for them to try out a new set of skills which are not taught out of a textbook."
Mrs Lawrence said the annual event always proved popular.
