STEVE White believes his Chippenham Town side fully deserved their three points at title challengers Weymouth on Saturday.
The surprise victory has boosted Chippenham's hopes of reaching Conference Two next season while putting a massive dent in Weymouth's championship hopes.
White said: "The players did very well and over the 90 minutes definitely did enough to win the match.
"They put us under a lot of pressure at the end of the first half and at the start of the second but we weathered the storm well and looked the stronger side by the end.
"We could have scored three or four goals and to beat a team of Weymouth's quality is a big coup for the whole team."
Since White took over there has been a lot of emphasis put on the fitness of the players.
White said: "We work them very hard on Tuesday night at training and I think that will and has worked in our favour.
"Our fitness is very, very good. It was a quick game on Saturday and the way both sets of players were still going at the end it was hard to believe they had played 90 minutes of football."
Martin Paul has struggled to gain a regular starting place since White's arrival but even before Saturday's winner the Chippenham manager needed no reminder about the striker's talents.
"He is without doubt one of the best finishers around at this level. I could not have wanted the chance to fall to anyone else because it was not an easy finish.
"He was 25 yards out from goal, had his back to the goal and he had to swivel and hit the ball with his wrong foot. A great finish."
