LIFE-SAVER Sarah Tucker has been thanked by the National Blood Service for donating her bone marrow.
The Westbury woman was one of 60 donors from the south west honoured at a ceremony in Bristol.
She and her fellow donors were treated to a meal before being presented with a trophy by stem cell recipient Charlotte Taylor.
The NBS runs the British Bone Marrow Register (BBMR) a register of blood donors who have volunteered to become bone marrow donors.
The BBMR is responsible for recruiting, testing and registering donors and forms part of an international network of bone marrow registries who perform worldwide searches for suitable bone marrow donors.
Only one in every 1,000 bone marrow donations is matched to a recipient so the NBS is constantly appealing for more donors.
NBS communications officer Rachel Yandell said: "Bone marrow donors deserve a huge thank you for the commitment they make to help save lives. We can not thank these people enough for the gift of life they have given.
"Those thinking of becoming a blood donor, to fill in the BBMR recruitment form next time they go to give blood."
