FUTURE brides and grooms ensured the Wiltshire Times wedding fair was an occasion to remember on Sunday.

Almost 1,000 guests turned up at the Bowood Golf and Country Club to choose everything from dresses to flowers and browsed over 30 exhibitors' stalls.

The third annual wedding fair also gave visitors the chance to find out about the latest fashions and learn how to prepare a wedding planner.

Lisa Wrintmore, classified manager at the Wiltshire Times, said: "The exhibitors who came were all happy and it was a successful event as they made quite a lot of bookings.

"It makes a difference when an exhibition is put on in lovely surroundings and Bowood Golf and Country Club is the perfect setting.

"Many of the visitors obviously had something in mind but quite a lot decided what to buy and get for their wedding just from browsing the many stalls.

"One company actually wrote to us this week and said how much they enjoyed the event and were looking forward to coming back a second time.

"The way this year's event went it is quite likely we will be looking to organise another wedding fair in the future."

Wishing Well Gowns, of Melksham, held a catwalk show of the latest fashions, directed by Faye Dancey.

Perfect Day Bridal Gowns of Bradford, Trowbridge-based Hair Garden and Serendipity of Devizes were also on stage.
