NEIL Kirkpatrick has set his Trowbridge Town side a target of 13 points from a possible 33 to guarantee a top two finish in the Premier Division.
After Tuesday night's comfortable 3-0 win at Warminster Town the Trowbridge boss insists the club's priority is to secure second place and, depending on their ground situation, promotion to the Screwfix Direct League next season.
The outcome of the championship race is still in Town's hands but with as many as seven games in hand over their rivals Kirkpatrick knows it will not be easy to finish above leaders Stratton, who are currently ten points clear.
He said: "The only thing we are focusing on is getting enough points to finish in second place which I think we will do.
"We are capable of winning the league but with so many games left to play I have just told the lads to not worry about it.
"As long as we get second spot we will be happy. Our aim is to get out the Wiltshire League and second place will do that."
Jack Heard scored one of the goals in his first start for the club since returning from Corsham Town and Kirkpatrick knows a strong squad is vital in the weeks ahead.
He said: "Freshness will become an issue but hopefully we have got a strong enough squad to cover.
"Jack Heard did very well as did Matt Minnus, who was electric when he came on for the last 30 minutes."
The other goal scorers were Adam Nunn from the penalty spot and Waleed Bakali.
Kirkpatrick was in cautious mood after watching his Trowbridge side cruise to a 3-0 win at Devizes Town Reserves on Saturday.
Goals from Daniel Barnes, Adam Nunn and Waleed Bakali kept Trowbridge's title challenge on course but Kirkpatrick is wary about the amount of games they have still got to play.
Trowbridge are in second place, 10 points behind leaders Stratton with six games in hand, and still have the Wiltshire Senior Cup final and League cup semi-final to play.
Added to their remaining 10 league games Trowbridge face a hectic schedule to fit the fixtures in before the May 8 deadline and Kirkpatrick is worried this may have an effect on his side's results.
He said: "We have got far too many games left in such a short space of time. It will be a busy few weeks to say the least.
"If it was just a matter of having to play Saturday and Tuesday then I would not have a problem but it is going to have to be even more than this.
"Players are going to pick up injuries throughout the rest of the games and also get suspended. It is a bit worrying but we will just have to get on with it."
Saturday was a day to remember for defender Mike Little, who made his 100th appearance for the club, and also marked the return of Jack Heard after he left in the summer to join Melksham Town.
The first chance of the match came on 30 minutes when Bakali's shot rebounded to Simon Kitchen and his fierce shot was cleared of the line by a defender.
The breakthrough came in the last minute of the half when Barnes headed a Dave Percival cross into the back of the net.
After the break Trowbridge were even more dominant. Kitchen and Bakali spurned further chances before Nunn's low shot from the edge of the made it 2-0 on 66 minutes.
A minute later Bakali made it three, smashing the ball into the roof of the net from close range, after Heard had driven the ball across the face of goal.
Trowbridge entertain Aldbourne tomorrow before travelling to Bradford Town on Tuesday, kick off 6.15pm, and then entertain Shrewton Reserves on Thursday, kick off 6.15pm.
