A pond planting day will take place tomorrow at Tydeman Street Nature Reserve.
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and the Great Western Community Forest have been working together with Thames Water, the Environment Agency and the local community to improve the Hreod Burna brook corridor for both the public and for wildlife.
The new pond has been created to encourage frogs, newts, toads, dragonflies and butterflies.
The public's help is needed to put plants in the pond which will keep the water healthy for wildlife and create new habitats for pond life.
The free family event, which includes fun activities for children throughout the day, runs from 10am to 3pm. Light refreshments will also be provided.
Meet on the grass area by the Hreod Burna brook behind Tydeman Street.
Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
It is recommended that everyone attending wears old clothes and wellington boots or waterproofs if wet.
