TROWBRIDGE stalwart Chris Bell believes the club's future is in good hands after watching Saturday's Dorset and Wilts Vase triumph over Swindon.
Bell, who is recovering from a heart attack he suffered at Christmas, is in his 34th season as a Trowbridge player and has experienced a lot of highs and lows. The 50-year-old prop has played for the firsts, seconds and thirds at the club and is confident Trowbridge can continue to improve.
He said: "It was great to be able to watch the first team get some success. It was a good final and they played really well.
"We have gone up in the past and then come back down again. The last few years have been a struggle but it looks as though we are on the up.
"Things are looking very good for the future and I believe we could go even higher. This success is good for the club and also good for rugby in this area."
The majority of the Trowbridge side that took to the field on Saturday were under 24 and Bell believes youth is the way forward.
He said: "I have always believed in youngsters coming forward, even though I have stuck around for a few years.
"Today shows what the club are capable of and I think the young players can help take Trowbridge forward."
