Supermum Sue Humphries (centre) with daughters Lisa and Dawn.MUM in a million Sue Humphries says she did what any other loving parent would have done in her situation.
The 54-year-old, of St Martin's Close, Barford St Martin, was nominated by her identical twin daughters, Lisa and Dawn (22), and son Darren (32) for the title of March Supermum.
When Sue gave birth to the girls three months prematurely, doctors told her and husband Mike (44) they might not survive.
Spending much of her time at their bedside, Sue had to juggle the family home and take care of Darren, while fitting in vital hospital visits.
Making sure things remained as normal as possible for her children, Sue remained strong, but complications meant the twins were not developing properly in their early years and had still not started walking by the age of two.
Eventually, doctors diagnosed cerebral palsy and the two girls had to undergo several operations to help improve their mobility and quality of life - spending weeks at a time in Bristol Children's Hospital.
Sue was forced to give up work but battled on against the odds.
Receiving her bouquet of flowers, she said: "I didn't know anything about it at all until it came out in the paper.
"I am very proud to think that the girls have done this for me and it has been a long haul.
"We never really knew from one year to another what was going to happen and therefore we had to do the best we could, fight on and get the girls into mainstream schools."
Lisa and Dawn attended Downton Secondary School and left with some impressive qualifications, but admit they couldn't have done it without the help and support of their parents.
Both girls are now working.
Lisa said: "We just want to say a great big thank you and we wouldn't be anything without our mum and dad.
"We couldn't ask for anything else and mum has always put us first."
Dawn added: "Mum and dad are always there for us.
"A lot of parents might not have been able to stay together after everything that's happened, but they have, and they have always given 110 per cent."
