DENTAL student Laura Roberts is running the London Marathon to raise more than £1,000 for asthma sufferers.

And Laura, 20, from Lawn, has created a fitting costume for the 26-mile challenge an asthma inhaler.

She said: "It isn't too uncomfortable. I'm determined to finish because it's for charity."

Laura has been training on the treadmills at the leisure club in the Swindon Marriott hotel.

The race takes place on Sunday and Laura's mother, Carolyn, 45, an asthma sufferer, will be cheering her on.

Although Laura is a keen triathlon competitor she thinks this will be her toughest test. She said: "I'm not a born runner."

So far Laura has raised £1,000 for the Asthma Research Campaign and hopes to reach a £1,500 target.

Carolyn helped her daughter make the outfit from plastic laundry baskets.

She said: "It's lightweight and hopefully won't be too hot. Laura is always game for a challenge and I'll be on the sidelines offering moral support."
