An Oaksey man who was caught with hundreds of pounds worth of drugs when he crashed his car has escaped another prison term.
Martin Hawkins was being chased by police because he was banned from driving, but the chase ended when he rolled his Vauxhall Astra.
When officers examined the 32-year-old's vehicle they found it contained amphetamines, ecstasy and cocaine.
Colin Meeke, prosecuting, said officers tried to stop the vehicle in the early hours of December 2 last year.
Following a chase he said the vehicle overturned and Hawkins was arrested and found to have the drugs.
The court was told that Hawkins had already been sentenced to a four month jail term for dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and without insurance.
Mr Meeke said that when Hawkins was jailed in mid December he wasn't charged for the drugs matters until March this year, after the substances had been tested.
He said a total of 24.5 grams of amphetamines, one gram of cocaine and 19 ecstasy tablets worth a total of about £400 were found in the car.
Hawkins, of Bendy Bow, pleaded guilty to two charges of possessing class A drugs and one of having class B drugs.
Alan Fuller, defending, said had he been sentenced for all the matters together it may not have made a great difference to the sentence.
Hawkins, now a self-employed motor dealer, was fined £600.
