EVERY game is a crunch game for Chippenham now but none more so than their clash with Hednesford Town this weekend.
The Bluebirds currently occupy 18th position, the last promotion play-off place, and are only three points ahead of rock bottom Hednesford.
The Staffordshire club had an indifferent Easter taking one point from two games but are still within touching distance of a play-off place.
On Saturday manager Barry Powell made a number of changes to the starting line up and after a bright but goalless first half it looked as though the fortunes might change.
But Hednesford's hopes were soon dispelled when Hinckley took the lead after some slack marking and a miss-hit shot which beat Ryan Young just inside the post.
But the Pitmen came back to snatch a point when captain Steve Palmer headed home a free-kick from substitute Les Hines.
On Monday they travelled to Moor Green and came away empty-handed after a 2-1 defeat.
Their star man is striker Mark Danks who has bagged 14 goals from 23 appearances this season.
He signed for the club during the 2003 close season after being released from Bradford City.
He was a product of Wolverhampton Wanderer's Academy who then moved to Bradford City where he made five first team appearances last season.
Another potential dangerman is fellow forward Steve Anthrobus who has notched seven strikes in 25 games.
He began his football career at Millwall progressing to their first team. He moved to Wimbledon for £150,000 and then to Shrewsbury Town, Crewe Alexandra and then Oxford United.
Last season Anthrobus played in the League of Wales for TNS.
Two other potential key men are club captain Steve Palmer and former Torquay United midfielder Anthony Maguire.
When the two sides met at Hardenhuish Park earlier in the season they drew 0-0 with Matt Rawlins, Charlie Griffin and Tom Gould all spurning chances to score for the Bluebirds.
In the corresponding fixture last season Chippenham returned victorious after Matt Rawlins, Adie Mings and Martin Paul scored in a 3-1 win.
Focus will be key for both sides but Hednesford could be forgiven if they are not a little distracted by their forthcoming FA Trophy final.
They recently booked their place at Villa Park on May 23 by beating Aldershot Town 3-1 over two legs.
