PEWSEY Vale's inconsistent season continued as they put their last two poor performances behind them with a well-deserved win over Henley.
The first chance of a goal fell to Vale but the Henley goalkeeper Stuart Gosby denied striker Barry Flippance the chance in the 15th minute.
At the other end Pewsey goalkeeper Lee Wilson was also on form denying the visitors their chance.
It was the Vale who were to go behind in the 30th minute when a low cross by Jordon Norris ran across the goalmouth to Darren Lucas at the far post who slipped the ball past Wilson.
Chances fell to both sides during the next few minutes but Darren Waters then put the Vale back on level terms in the 41st minute.
It was another soft with another soft goal when Tom Ritchie put a corner kick in which was headed on by Craig Wall to Waters for the a simple tap-in.
The third goal of the game was always going to be vital and it was Pewsey who grabbed it in the 51st minute. A perfect long free-kick by Brian Blake picked out Martin Churchward, who was unmarked at the far post, and he unleashed a left-foot volley that gave Gosby no chance.
Pewsey were now well in command of the game and Wall was unlucky when he got a head to an Andy Brien corner. But Pewsey did go further into the lead from the penalty spot when George Friel handled following a Churchward header.
Friel was red-carded and although Brien's spot-kick was parried by Gosby he followed up to put the loose ball past the goalkeeper.
Pewsey continued their pressure and Richard Pearson, Wall and Ritchie were all unlucky not to increase the Pewsey scoreline.
