MEETINGS of Kennet and North Wiltshire Primary Care Trust are to be held earlier in the day to stop board members from getting tired.
The monthly board meetings, which are held at the trust's headquarters at Southgate House, Pans Lane, Devizes, have been held at 2.30pm but from this month they are to switch permanently to 10am.
Trust spokeswoman Jenny Edwards said: "The start time of the meetings has been brought forward because under the previous starting time board members were sometimes finishing at 7pm.
"Board members were concerned that they were very tired by the end of the day. After the board meeting held in public they were often required to continue in closed session and were debating complex issues.
"As well as starting at 2.30pm they sometimes have a board briefing meeting starting at 9am and by the end of the day they were shattered."
"They feel they needed to give adequate time to consider the issues fairly so that is why the meetings will now start at 10am."
The next board meeting of the trust is on Tuesday April 27 at 10am. Members of the board will be available for informal discussion from 9.45am.
Members of the public wishing to ask questions are asked, where possible, to submit their question in writing at the reception desk outside the meeting room so that questions of a similar nature can be dealt with together.
