Mayors across the region raised £500 to support a Calne transport company for the elderly and disabled.
Calne Mayor Tony Trotman held a mayoral ball in the town hall and more than 100 attended including 11 mayors from across the county and Thames Borough.
Friends, family and guests who attended also gave donations.
A cheque was presented to Calne Community Transport this week to go towards their annual running costs.
"They have to raise money for the two buses that they have got. They are an extremely good volunteer team that do such a lot of good in the town, so I wanted to support them," said Coun Trotman.
The group provides transport for those who find it difficult to travel around. They have specially adapted buses and volunteers to help passengers. They employ a driver and every five years they have to replace the buses, which cost more than £50,000, to meet current regulations.
They have received funding for the buses from Wiltshire County Council but still need to raise the running costs.
