A MAN who faced prison for having breached his Anti-Social Behaviour Order has had a drink-related charge against him dropped.
Darren Waldie, 33, from Waiblingen Way, Devizes, had pleaded not guilty to drinking in a public area protected by a bylaw prohibiting it.
Waldie was given an ASBO in November last year after he and others were accused of causing public disorder by regularly drinking in the Market Place.
He was picked up in February for allegedly being drunk in the town centre but last week the Crown Prosecution Service dropped the case for lack of evidence.
