A TATTOO lover who wore his patriotism on his sleeve decided to have some added to his back in time for St George's Day on April 23.
Robb Forty, 39, now boasts a tableau showing England's patron saint in his legendary battle with a fearsome dragon.
Mr Forty, who already sported a series of patriotic images, was looking for something in a similar vein which would also cover two inferior designs on his back.
The building supplies contractor went to expert tattoo artist Mike Hervin, 34, at Skin Graffiti in Morley Street, and the two agreed on the design.
It is partly inspired by classical paintings, partly by a famous Swindon mural of a few years ago, and partly the product of the men's imaginations.
Mr Forty, who lives in Devizes Road, said: "I spoke to Mike and he said he would see what he could do. The design is almost complete there is just some minor work to add to the St George's flag. That will be done next Thursday, the day before St George's Day."
The work has taken 25 hours so far.
Mr Forty likes designs on an English theme because he is a patriot who proudly admits his love of his country.
He shares his home with partner Anita Bloxham, a 32-year-old accounts administrator, and the couple's three children are Carla, 17, Rachel, 14 and eight-year-old Matthew. Luckily, his family are just as fond of his designs as he is.
