Children from Walwayne Court Primary School, Trowbridge, are some of the first to win an award in a new art competition run by the Arc Theatre.
Year 2 pupils were winners of the 0-11 years category for their entry, Little Stages, in the Monahans Art Award competition organised by the Trowbridge theatre as part of its fifth anniversary celebrations.
Winners in the adult category and overall winners were Marie Curtis and Kimberley Jackson, of NB Gallery in Trowbridge, for their entry entitled Dress Rehearsal.
Entries, which had to depict the theme of celebration and the number five and be suitable for permanent display in the theatre, were judged by Linda Boss, of accountants Monahans, the theatre's principal sponsors; Angela Stribling, Wiltshire Youth Arts co-ordinator and Deryck Newland, Arc Theatre director.
The 12-15 years category was won by students from Filton High School in Bristol.
First prize of £500 was presented to the winners by Mrs Boss, of Monahans' Trowbridge office. Category winners each received £50.
Other entrants in the competition, which was launched last year, included Hawkeridge Art Club and Margaret Stancomb Nursery and Infants School.
