Hi-fi and TV retailer Bang and Olufsen will be opening its new Swindon store in Wood Street, Old Town tomorrow.
The new outlet will be run by Rearden sounds, which has been running the successful Bang and Olufsen franchise in Argyle Street, Bath, for many years. Commenting on the deal, David Miller of property agents Alder King said: "Bang and Olufsen will be a welcome addition to the retail mix in Old Town.
"Over the past year we have seen a change in the sort of shops that are attracted to the area. Traditional retailers are moving away and are being replaced by more modern, niche market companies.
"Wood Street for example has recently attracted bicycle retailer Red Planet and interior design and accessories retailer Mooki, as well as Bang and Olufsen.
"This new move underlines the market's confidence in Old Town as a retail centre and is helping to strengthen Old Town's individual identity."
