Trowbridge man Zouhir Aissaoui faces the prospect of a jail term after admitting glassing a man in a town pub.
The 23-year-old admitted the charge of unlawful wounding on the first morning of his trial at Swindon Crown Court.
Aissaoui, of Liddington Way, Trowbridge, assaulted Peter George on July 4 last year.
Recorder Alun Jenkins adjourned the case so the probation service could prepare a pre-sentence report on him.
Aissaoui was released on conditional bail.
