I SEE there is to be a 30mph speed limit along Sandridge Road, Melksham due to the Forest and Sandridge School being there.

Problems only arise because of parents dropping off or picking up children twice a day with cars being parked along the road for about 100 yards.

I agree that at these times a 30mph limit is desirable, but once the parents have left do we still need to have the low limit?

What about during the day, evenings, weekends, school holidays is a 30mph limit then really necessary?

If you drive up Brassknocker Hill into Bath and turn left the speed limit is 40mph. Part way along is a school with signs starting when the lights flash, the limit is 20mph, otherwise it is 40mph.

Surely this is more logical than subjecting drivers to an unnecessary low limit, especially when no pupils are in the school.
