TRIBUTES have been pouring in for a 37-year-old window cleaner found dead at his home in Southwick.

Father-of-two Alan Tucker, described this week by his sister as "the ultimate family man", was found dead at his home in Fleur De Lys Drive, Southwick, on Saturday afternoon.

Family and friends of the self-employed window cleaner have been left devastated by news of his death.

Younger sister Julie Bamford, who was one day into a sunshine break in the Canaries when she was told of her brother's death, said her family were finding it hard to cope with their loss.

"I got a call while I was on holiday and flew back straight away," she said.

"Everyone is devastated; no one can believe it. Alan was very well-known and well-liked. He was the life and soul of the party."

Mrs Bamford said to the outside world her brother seemed eternally happy, but his family knew he often suffered bouts of depression, stemming from the break-up of his marriage.

"His kids were his life," she said.

"Even though he saw them a lot, he could not handle not being with them all the time. It broke his heart."

Mr Tucker and his ex-wife, Elaine, divorced a year ago. The couple had two children Helen, eight, and Jodie, five.

A regular at The Black Swan pub, in Trowbridge, Mr Tucker was an avid England rugby and football fan.

Details of his funeral have not been confirmed, but the service will be held at West Wiltshire Crematorium in Semington and arranged by Arthur Mays of Westbury.
