CHIPPENHAM TOWN manager Steve White has told his troops to come out fighting following their Easter Monday mauling against Dorchester.
A 6-1 home defeat was the club's worst since their days as Screwfix League also-rans and left a major dent in the Bluebirds' Conference Two play-off hopes.
Chippenham travel to fellow strugglers Hednesford tomorrow and the loser will be in serious danger of missing the Conference Two boat.
White is hoping the Dorchester debacle was a temporary blip and his team will rediscover some form at a crucial time.
Said White: "Against Dorchester we have made five catastrophic errors in defence.
"These things happen sometimes, but I love a fight and I'm sure my players feel the same way.
"The real character will come to the fore now.
"The Easter period is a crucial time for any club and we came unstuck so the Hednesford game is massive.
"There are six teams now vying for the last two play-off places, and that includes ourselves and Hednesford."
White takes with him a full complement, following the correction of goalkeeper Mar Hervin's broken nose and the recovery of Mark Badman from a persistent hamstring problem.
Town's opponents have suffered a horrendous slump in the Premier Division.
After a good start to the season, they now prop up the table, despite their run to the final of the FA Trophy where they will face newly-crowned Ryman League champions Canvey Island at Villa Park.
