With any hopes of the Premier Division title long gone, Highworth's players might have expected a relaxed run-in.
But a fixture backlog means John Fisher's troops face a hectic fortnight.
Highworth travel to Abingdon tomorrow, following last night's trip to Bishops Cleeve.
There they suffered a 4-0 Premier Division defeat at Bishops Cleeve last night in a bizarre game they possibly should have won.
After a goalless first half, John Fisher's side fell behind early in the first half but then missed a succession of good chances, with Pete Macklin twice going close and Ian McSherry hitting the bar.
The hosts then made Highworth pay for their wastefulness with a three-goal burst in 10 minutes to wrap up a flattering victory.
Highworth conclude their Supplementary Cup semi-final at home to Milton on Monday and trek to Gloucester United 48 hours later.
That's four games in less than a week and Fisher is unimpressed by the scheduling.
He said: "What annoys me is that we are having to play three games a week now for the rest of the season but we had a spare Saturday two weeks ago. It's ridiculous.
"We're not in a position to win the league now, but other teams like Brackley are and it's not fair that a whole season's work is spoiled by having to cram in your fixtures.
"I don't see why the league can't extend the season."
Fortunately, Fisher has a fully-fit squad for the gruelling programme, although Richard Knox is on holiday and goalkeeper Elliot Jackson is unavailable tomorrow so Mark Turner will stand in.
Wootton Bassett still need a few points to safeguard their place in the Premier Division for next season.
Pete Yeardley's team currently sit fourth-from-bottom the final relegation place but this summer's non-league restructure means that only one or two teams will drop when the dust settles.
Yeardley doesn't want to take any chances though.
"We want our destiny to be in our own hands," he said.
"That means we need six points from our final three games against Almondsbury, Brackley and Hook Norton."
Yeardley welcomes back goalkeeper Ian Gill for the journey to Almondsbury after a bout of flu.
Stuart Bellinger also returns but Rich Willis and Ben Gascoigne face fitness tests on ankle injuries.
Alan Clark wants his Purton side to win their next three league games to sew up the Division One West title.
The Red House outfit need eight points from their final four games to guarantee the crown and Clark doesn't want the race to go to the wire.
"We need eight points to be certain so we're going all out to win the next three," he said.
A trip to Harrow Hill beckons tomorrow and Purton are at full strength following the return of Eurshel Fearon and Kenny Hughes from holiday.
"It will be a tricky game," added Clark. "Harrow Hill are very much in your face and we know what to expect.
"But we've hit a bit of form so we're quietly confident of getting a result."
Third-placed Shrivenham still have a mathematical chance of pipping Purton, but a more realistic target is the second promotion spot currently occupied by Ross Town.
Alan Dyton's troops can keep up the pressure with three points against visiting Middle Barton.
Key midfielder Nathan Holt is absent along with Doug Imrie and Mark Peters is out with a rib injury.
Craig Tuck could return from suspension and Darren Cummings and David Hay are in line for recalls.
