A RAFT of new measures are to be brought in by Salisbury district council in a determined effort to crackdown on antisocial behaviour.

Pledging to get "even tougher" with those making other people's lives a misery, the council this week announced it was to appoint a dedicated antisocial behaviour reduction officer and introduce parental contracts for council house tenants whose children cause problems on local estates.

The moves are among seven priorities identified by the council following an extensive review. A special working group set up by its community and housing scrutiny panel carried out the review and the council's cabinet has now approved its final recommendations.
