Cirencester consolidated third spot in the Western Division with a 2-1 home win over Ilkeston, writes CRAIG LYUS.
It took a late goal from midfielder Adam Mayo to see off the midtable visitors at a wind-swept Corinium Stadium.
Everything went to plan for Ciren in the early stages, as Ben Fitch forced a save from Dan Robinson before the Ilkeston keeper was beaten on nine minutes.
Shaun Wimble's deep corner was headed back across goal by Darren Robison and Jody Bevan forced the ball over the line.
The hosts almost doubled their lead within 60 seconds but Gary Wotton headed just wide from another Wimble cross.
Ilkeston restored parity against the run of play on the half-hour mark.
Cirencester failed to clear a Chris Freestone cross from the right and Paul Eshelby drove home the loose ball via the underside of the bar.
Ciren keeper Paul Thompson had to pull off a series of fine saves at the start of the second half, punching away Ryan Hindley's dangerous cross and reacting to block Mark Lever's follow up.
But with the wind at their backs, the Centurions reasserted themselves.
Robinson did well to pull off two fine saves from Wimble free-kicks before Mayo pounced to pinch the points with eight minutes to go.
Alan Bird broke from defence to link up with Fitch and Scott Griffin. Bird continued his run and laid the perfect ball to Mayo who slotted past Robinson from 10 yards.
CIRENCESTER: Thompson, Bird, Fraser, Mayo, Jackson, Wotton, Robison, Wimble, Hopkins, Bevan, Fitch. Subs: Griffin, Stevens, McEntegart, McCabe.
