WILTSHIRE and Swindon Lifelong Learning Partnership is inviting businesses to a free event to discover the benefits of staff training and career development.
People Profit, Business Profit is an interactive event to be held at Tidworth College, in Tidworth, on May 5, 9.30am- 2.30pm.
Information, advice and guidance programme manager Louise Proctor, from the Learning and Skills Council national office, will be speaking.
Norman Atkin, director at W&SLLP, said: "We are encouraging local businesses to attend this event and take part in a host of interactive workshops. Eleven organisations will be exhibiting, offering delegates the opportunity to seek information and support from a range of providers.
"Delegates will also be able to hear accounts from employees who have benefited from developing their skills in the workplace and the positive effects it has had on their personal life."
The Basic Skills Agency estimates three million working adults have literacy, numeracy and language needs. High wastage rates, incorrect orders, increased downtime, high staff turnover and difficulties introducing new working methods can be symptoms of a workforce with insufficient skills.
