AMESBURY shoppers have a new way to raise money for their local schools, community groups and charities - by shopping in the town centre Co-op.
The supermarket chain is encouraging groups and their supporters to make use of its newly-launched Dividend Partner Card, which allows good causes to earn money every time a cardholder shops at the Co-op.
Instead of keeping the vouchers they earn by spending money in the store, shoppers can now choose to donate their dividend payments.
The vouchers are sent to the group who can either use them in store or exchange them for cash.
Stephen Youd-Thomas, of the Co-operative Group, said: "The Dividend Partner Card scheme means customers can donate money to a good cause without having to bother writing a cheque, organising a direct debit or setting money aside - all they have to do is shop at the Co-op.
"Our most loyal customers earn hundreds of pounds a year with their Dividend cards but, however much they get, some choose to donate it because they care about their communities, just like we do."
