THE Hawthorn Medical Centre, in Swindon, is holding an open evening on April 28.
Called the Healthy Heart Evening, the event is for all patients, staff and friends of the medical centre in May Close, off Cricklade Road.
It starts at 7pm and will offer the chance to meet others over cheese, wine and soft drinks before the evening begins.
There will be a talk by Dr Naga Kilaru a local GP and a doctor at the Wiltshire Coronary Care Centre at the Great Western Hospital on heart disease and its prevention.
There will also be an opportunity to have your cholesterol checked and a personal risk of heart disease informally assessed.
The meeting will not offer individual medical advice to patients, nor offer treatment and those patients concerned should make an appointment with their GP.
Patients who plan to attend the event should telephone the centre on 01793 536541.
