GAZETTE & HERALD: THIEVES who walked out of a clothing store in a set of new clothes managed to shake off a former employee who attempted to pursue them.
The two men left Wadswick Country Store, in Box, each wearing a shooting coat and carrying a boot bag and tweed hat worth £800, before making their getaway towards Bath in a red van.
Shop manager Carolyn Barton said one of her former employees suspected that the clothes were stolen and followed the thieves to Bath.
Investigating officer PC Shaun Hunt, from Corsham, said the man managed to pull the thieves over.
He lowered his car window and told them he suspected them of theft. PC Hunt said the thieves told the man they had done nothing wrong and sped off.
The men are described as white, both in their mid-30s. The first was 6ft, broad shouldered with dark hair and ginger highlights. The second was tall, broad shouldered, but skinny, with a round gold earring in his right ear.
