CHIPPENHAM goalkeeper Mark Hervin believes he has been cursed since winning the Dr Martens League's Safe Hands Award for March.
During last month the 31-year-old let in just one goal but since being handed the award a fortnight ago has leaked ten goals in two matches.
The former Bath City player said it was not just the amount of goals let in that upset him but how they had been conceded.
"Of the ten goals I would put eight down to individual errors from our lads, myself included," said Hervin.
"But you can't just blame other individuals, I think it was down to all of us in the team collectively.
"I think the Safe Hands Award has been a curse. It is still the same players that were doing well in matches like Weymouth. We have let ourselves down a little bit and all the good work has been undone.
"I don't know whether one mistake has played on people's minds and led to more. But we've done so much good work to get ourselves into this position only to let ourselves down now."
Hervin said the players wre low after losing to Hednesford but now know exactly was must be done to rescue their season.
"We've got two games to go and all we can do now is get six points and rely on other teams to drop points," he added.
"We are more than capable of doing it. Our heads are down at the moment but we have got to believe we can do it.''
