AMANDA MURDER INQUIRY: 10.48am: Amanda leaves her home in Purton to take her boyfriend David Board to his home in Bremhill. She calls into the One Stop convenience store in the village.

11.30am: Amanda drops Mr Board, 19, off at his home in Bremhill. She fails to keep a meeting with friends and that evening her concerned family go out to look for her. They find her green Rover Metro car abandoned in a car park at Asda in Swindon and alert the police.

Good Friday

Police issue appeals for information. Amanda's parents Beverley and Hartley and her boyfriend David Board hand out leaflets to shoppers at Asda in Swindon.

Saturday April 10

Forensic tests are carried out on Amanda's abandoned car and house-to-house enquiries at Amanda's home village of Purton. An incident room is set up at Westlea police station.

Bank Holiday Monday

Det Ch Supt Paul Howlett releases CCTV footage showing Miss Edwards taken at the store in Purton. Late in the evening police arrest plasterer Ian Cortis.

Tuesday April 13

Police take Cortis to the building site at the the Knoll House Hotel in Malmesbury. Forensic teams spend much of the day digging at the site

Wednesday April 14

Specialist dog teams from South Yorkshire begin searches.

Thursday April 15

Dogs identify a spot at The Knoll where a body may be buried. Assistance is sought from forensic archaeologists from Birmingham University.

Friday April 16

Cortis is released just after midnight after 80 hours in custody. That afternoon a body is recovered at the Knoll.

Cortis is later found hanging at a house belonging to his in-laws in Woodsage Way, Calne. The Police Complaints Authority is informed of Cortis' death.

Saturday April 17

Formal identification of Miss Edwards' body takes place at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

Thursday April 22

An inquest into Miss Edwards' death is opened in Trowbridge.
