YOUTH cricket in Devizes gets up and running again this weekend with the first junior coaching sessions being held.

This season's Devizes Cricket Club Under 11 and Under 13 coaching programmes will be held on Sundays from 10am to noon starting this weekend.

Devizes' Under 15 coaching sessions will be held on Thursdays from 6.15pm to 8.15pm and get underway from April 29.

All the teams will play in the Bath & District Cricket Leagues which play their matches on Monday and Tuesday evenings.

A new addition to the club's set up this year is coaching for youths in the Under 16 to Under 21 age groups.

Devizes Cricket Club youth manager Paul Vooght said: "The aim of the new coaching is in order to fill the void between junior and adult Cricket.

"The team will play competitive fixtures as a Development XI on Sundays."

Coaching for the Under 16 to Under 21 players will be held on Fridays from 6.15pm to 8.15pm starting on Friday April 30.

Elsewhere, on Sunday May 2 cricket equipment supplier www.cricket-hockey.com will be selling equipment from Devizes Sports Club.

The event will run from noon to 2pm and all public are welcome.
