VOLUNTEERS from Wiltshire could be involved in manning a national telephone pregnancy crisis helpline.
The co-ordinator of Careline Confidential, the national helpline, is visiting the Swindon Pregnancy Crisis Centre on Saturday and volunteers will also be there from Devizes and Chippenham.
They will be discussing the possibility of volunteers from Swindon Pregnancy Crisis Centre manning a session of the Careline at some future date following extra training.
If that goes ahead then volunteers from Devizes and Chippenham could be brought in to help.
Careline Confidential is manned by centres around the country.
The number is 0800 028 2228 and people affected by a pregnancy crisis or needing someone to talk to after an abortion can call it.
Trained volunteers provide information, a listening ear and details of local centres offering 'The Journey' post abortion counselling. People can also log on to a national website www.pregnancy.org.uk
