MELKSHAM made it four points from six when they picked up a handy draw against Welton on Monday night.

Nigel Tripp's side fell behind and then were reduced to ten men but they batted on and picked up a deserved draw.

The opening goal went the way of the visitors in the first half when Aaron Blakemore scored after his first shot had hit the post.

Blakemore was also involved in Melksham's sending off after the break. He was clean through when Jamie Cheeseman pulled him back and the defender was given his marching orders. But after the dismissal Welton sat back and Melksham punished them when Owen Bryan struck the post and 18-year-old Matt Taylor buried the rebound to secure a useful point.

Melksham Town 3 Elmore 0

MELKSHAM got back to winning ways with a comfortable victory over rock bottom Elmore on Saturday.

The introduction of substitute Wayne Bailey in the second half made the difference as he scored two and set up one for Owen Bryan.

Manager Nigel Tripp said: "When we scored the first goal you could see their heads go down and I felt a bit sorry for their manager.

"It was a pleasing game for us and we got to play some youngsters. Domm Khanphong did well from the start and Matt Taylor came on as a sub and did well. We changed our style of play a bit and got some confidence. When we lost to Devizes we did play well so we knew this was coming."

Melksham worked hard to pressure Elmore from the start and from early on Dan Harvey got on the end of Owen Bryan's free-kick but saw Chris Donkin save.

As Melksham continued to turn the screw Donkin did well to make a close range save from Bryan and also denied Steve Wickings soon after.

But despite the home side's pressure it was Elmore who came the nearest to scoring in the first half when Jason Reeves hit the bar in the 45th minute.

Ten minutes into the second half Tripp brought on Wayne Bailey and Matthew Taylor and Bailey had an immediate impact.

He opened the scoring from close range and then set up Bryan for the second in the 69th minute.

Five minutes later Bryan returned the favour when he crossed for Bailey to head home and complete the scoring.

Melksham complete their season with a home clash against Bideford. Steve Casey is likely to be the main injury doubt for Tripp's men.
