PEWSEY were dealt a cruel blow on Tuesday night when Carterton struck two late goals to steal victory.
Vale manager Steve Wootton was forced to field a weaken side due to players being unavailable but his team led from a 38th minute Andy Brien penalty.
Carterton got back into the match in the 82nd minute when a Gary Smales cross from the right found Adrian Holder who finished.
With pressure on the Pewsey defence they were dealt that blow when Wilson was unable to cling onto a shot and Smales put the loose ball into the net.
This Saturday Pewsey face high-flying Southall whose ranks boast the free-scoring former QPR player Michael Meaker.
