GAZETTE & HERALD: JAZZ enthusiasts gathered at a musical evening to help raise hundreds of pounds for local charities last weekend.
The Jazz Night at Calne Town Hall on Friday was organised by the Rotary Club, and featured recently formed jazz group Quintessence, with James Harpham and Alphie Archer.
On saxophone was 16-year-old Ollie Smith, who thoroughly impressed the audience with his skill, and on drums was Len Bealing. The evening also featured a wide range of jazz classics sung by the talented 20-year-old Gabby Young.
Mary-Ann Jones, the Calne Rotary Club president-elect, said: "Our thanks go to everyone in the town and surrounding area who supported this event. All the money raised will be used to support local charities."
The club meets every Thursday evening. To find out more, contact Mrs Jones on (01249) 821758.
