GAZETTE & HERALD: AMBITIOUS sixth form students at John Bentley School, Calne, aim to take a leaf out of Richard Branson's book.
The 13 students are out to prove their business acumen and are taking part in a business project.
They are part of the Young Enterprise Scheme which aims to promote business in schools. The students have to develop an idea and then turn that into a product, which they then sell to the rest of the school.
This year the team created the company Game On, with the product Teachi 2D. The company was led by David Bowden who acted as managing director.
Student Paul Smith said: "Teachi 2D are individual cards of every teacher at the school, with caricatures, attacks and a comical statement," he said.
To increase their sales, the students held a competition to win an X-box.
Paul Harris, Calne Chamber of Commerce chairman, picked the winning ticket and presented the prize.
Robert Carter of 7JH won the contest and the Game On team presented him with the games console.
The business students are now putting together an annual company report, a presentation and a trade stand, to try to win through to the national Young Enterprise competition.
In 2001, pupils at the school won the award for the best trade stand in the Wiltshire regional final.
