DEVIZES Town Trusts, the charity which makes grants to students to help them buy books and equipment, is looking for a new member after Ros Benson retired after 26 years.
Clerk to the trusts committee, Julian Macdonald, said: "The trustees would like to say how much they appreciate the services Mrs Benson has given the trusts over many years.
"But it does leave us with a vacancy for a trustee. It is not an onerous job and meetings are held quarterly.
"But Devizes Town Trusts are the only charity in Devizes that provides grant aid for educational purposes.
"We don't have a great deal of money, but we can make grants for books and equipment."
The trusts administer two local charities, the Bear Club Foundation and the Frank and George Simpson and Dr Raby Trust.
Anyone interested in becoming a trustee should write to Mr Macdonald, Clerk to the Trustees Committee, care of Devizes Town Hall, St John's Street, Devizes SN10 1BN.
