I wonder whether someone could enlighten me as to when my children become adults?
They can have sexual relationships at 16, drink at 18, all-inclusive holiday say adults at 12 and now Party in the Park organisers think they are adults at 10!
I recently bought six Party in the Park tickets and was amazed to see that my daughter has to pay adult price because she is ten, but on the reverse of the tickets it states that no children under the age of 14 can be admitted without an adult of 18 or over.
I rang GWR and the promoter did have the decency to ring me back, although his reasoning of ten years and over paying adult prices still leaves me slightly baffled! He said that if I went to see Blue at Birmingham NEC it would cost approximately £27 with no discount for children. Maybe if I went to NEC I would expect to pay that but I am not! I am going to sit in the middle of a field on a family day out.
I know they have to make money to cover costs but I do think that if they state no child under 14 to be admitted without an adult then children under 14 should pay a child's price!
I would like to say however that I went to the concert two years ago and had a great day out, it was well organised and well worth the money, just a shame that it is going to cost more each year as my children become older.
