MY friend and I were refused a pensioner ticket to the Palace Cinema in Devizes last Monday.
The lady said: "He says all tickets are £5". When I asked why not a pensioner rate, she followed: "You can go to the earlier show but not the late one."
I felt somehow degraded. This to me is discrimination against people who are old or getting old.
I did not see a notice anywhere telling me that an OAP ticket was not sold to an adult performance, which is what it is.
Devizes Cinema was struggling to stay alive not long ago, and there were very few at the performance on Monday, maybe 15.
I am not surprised with this attitude.
I doubt I'll drive over again.
