AN inspired double substitution by Melksham Town boss Nigel Tripp helped his side to their first win in seven matches against the league's strugglers.
With the match goal-less ten minutes into the second half Tripp replaced Dave Macey and Steve Wickens with Wayne Bailey and Matt Taylor and the move was immediately rewarded.
Bailey scored with almost his first touch of the game, set up Owen Bryan for the second and then scored his second of the game late on to seal the points.
Tripp believes the performance showed signs of encouragement for next season.
He said: "We played quite well although it was not against the best of opposition. We dominated the game without looking likely to score until I made the changes.
"You could say it was a bit of inspired management, but I don't think anyone will because they only seem to talk about me when we are losing. Wayne is a local lad and has all the ability, he just needs a good pre-season under him."
Tripp used the match to give 16-year-old Piyaphong Khaekphong a run on the left wing and brought on 17-year-old Taylor on the right in the second half.
"Things are encouraging for the future," Tripp said. "Even before playing these two youngsters we have a very young side.
"If we can just add a bit of experience in the summer then I think everything is in place for things to be very different next season."
