A PETITION launched to save a threatened petrol station and convenience store in Warminster has already attracted almost 200 signatures.
Owners of the Murco petrol station, Costcutters and Toyota car showroom in Victoria Road, are in negotiations with developers over the future of the site.
A housing firm and retail company are believed to be looking at the development but worried residents have been organising a petition to save the shop from closure.
Town councillor Les Rose said: "So far we have had almost 200 signatures since Saturday, there has been an overwhelming response.
"We don't want to be caught out like we were with the hospital when decisions were reached before the town was asked what it thought."
Cllr Rose is now visiting homes in the area of Victoria Road with the petition but worried residents can also sign up at The Baby Shop on George Street.
