VILLAGERS in Winsley are being asked to muck in to clean up the roads and paths in the village.
A Saturday Scrape is planned for tomorrow when volunteers from will shovel out dirt, grass and weeds to get the village looking ship-shape for summer.
Organiser Marjorie Beale said: "It's not so much the main street but the smaller roads and paths we need to clean up because they get neglected by the big road cleaning machines.
"We held a Saturday Scrape in December and it was a very wet, messy day, and although we did well I'm hoping for good weather this time which will encourage more people to take part."
After the clear-up session there will be a prize giving for the most hard-working volunteers. Volunteers should meet at the Seven Stars car park at 9am.
