Ref. 30063-18INTEL staff got to display their green side yesterday with a series of events to mark Earth Day.
This week is Global Earth Week, and Intel's activities included the planting of three trees around the grounds of the Swindon offices in Piper's Way, as well as putting up bird boxes made from recycled material and holding composting demonstrations.
Krystyna Nowicka, IT administrator and one of the organisers of the day, said: "It is a great opportunity for people throughout the world to help the environment."
Earth Day was started in America in 1970 by Senator Gaylord Nelson.
Since then it has grown into an international day on April 22 each year, with events around the world this year including mass birdwatching sessions, conferences on homeless pets and tree planting.
