A MEMORIAL honouring the men and women at the former Blakehill Farm Airfield, near Cricklade, who took part in D-Day and the battle at Arnhem will be dedicated tomorrow.
The RAF's 233 Squadron, volunteer WAAF air ambulance nurses and Transport Command were based at the farm in the run-up to the invasion in June 1944.
The Glider Pilot Regiment left from the field for the invasion and later for the Arnhem landings in September.
A service of dedication, with the Rev Bob Boyce, padre of the Glider Pilot Regiment and the Vicar of Cricklade, Rev Stephen Oram, will be held in Braydon Lane, Chelworth at 2pm.
