After 22 league and cup defeats and 281 goals conceded there was joy at last for Fairford under16s when in their final game of the season against Malmes-bury they secured their first point.
They went so close to making it a winning end to the season as they led 3-2 going into the final minutes of the match.
A goal from Duncan Cullay and an own goal had seen Fairford lead 2-0 only to be pegged back to 2-2 before Fairford got themselves back in front with another Cullay goal, only to be denied 70 seconds from time by a Malmesbury equaliser.
Malmesbury's goals were scored by Tim Gleed, Sam Griffiths and Joe Grigg.
At the other end of the table Shaw A went clear at the top thanks to a 5-1 win at Wootton Bassett.
Two goals from Craig Dixon plus further strikes from Mark King, Daniel Checchia and Luke Zamitt did the damage, Richard Deacan scoring the consolation goal for Bassett.
The title now looks like going to the wire when Shaw A meet Liden Community in the final match of the season.
Under 15
Liden Community made it through to the semi-finals of the Subsidiary Cup as Group winners after a 2-0 win over Ferndale Rodbourne.
They are joined by Stratton Juniors, Wootton Bassett Town and Shaw. The semi-finals, scheduled for next weekend, see Stratton Juniors at home to Wootton Bassett Town and Liden Community at home to Shaw.

Under 14
Westbrook were crowned as Division 1 champions in the week courtesy of two Matt Hobbs goals in their 2-1 win over a Fairford side desperately trying to win their last match to move off the bottom of the table. Tom Lander scored for Fairford.
In the play-off for a quarter-final place in the Subsidiary Cup, Ferndale Rodbourne were comfortable 6-0 winners over Highworth Town thanks to a Steve Green hat-trick, two from Aaron Stevens plus one from Adam Drury.
They now meet Walcot Wanderers in the quarter-final.
In the two quarter-finals played at the weekend, Greenmeadow were made to work hard by Second Division opponents Shaw, Greenmeadow eventually edging it 2-1, the home side missing a penalty as well. The goal they did score was from Matt North.
A goal a piece from Matthew Gilder and Ashley Gascoigne were enough to see Stratton Juniors home against Stratton Youth.
In the semi-finals Greenmeadow will play either Croft Juniors or Westbrook and Walcot Wanderers or Ferndale Rodbourne will play Stratton Juniors.
The league fixtures were completed in Division 1 in midweek. Fairford were 5-2 winners at Eastville while Ferndale Rodbourne secured a couple of draws.
On Tuesday they drew 1-1 with Wootton Bassett. Phil Tearle scoring for Bassett and Aarron Stevens for Ferndale.
On Thursday night they then drew 2-2 with Wroughton, Steve Green and Stevens scoring again for Ferndale, Alex Veale and Paul Wiltshire for Wroughton, both Wroughton goals coming in the dying minutes of the match.
Under 13 Subsidiary Cup
With league matches all finished it was Subsidiary Cup quarter-final action.
Croft Juniors were comfortable 6-0 winners over Stratton Juniors, Tony O'Connell helping himself to a hat-trick, Callum Finnegan netting twice and goalkeeper Declan O'Shea adding the sixth for Croft from a free-kick.
Highworth Juniors were too strong for Second Division opponents Devizes Town, a Robert Hall hat-trick plus one for Daniel Lee for Highworth, Jack Case scoring the Devizes consolation goal.
Westlea Wanderers were made to work hard by Second Division opponents Wootton Bassett Town. Westlea eventually edged home 2-1, Ben Curtis getting the Wootton Bassett goal.
In the final tie League Cup winners Eastville went out of the competition, losing 4-2 at home to Brunel Boys, Lee Smith and Taylor Gill scoring for Eastville.
In the semi-finals, Croft Juniors will be at home to Westlea Wanderers and Brunel Boys at home to Highworth Juniors.
Under 12 DivISION 1
The top two met and it was champions Amesbury Sports who ran out narrow 1-0 winners over Lydiard Youth.
Ferndale Rodbourne Pumas stay third after their comprehensive 9-1 win over Liden Community, Jordan McGovern (4), Nathan Gambling (2), Aaron Selby (2) and Chris Tewsbury scoring for Ferndale, and Grant Davis for Liden.
Old Town United stay fourth after a comprehensive 14-1 win at Purton and still have a chance of drawing level with Lydiard in runners-up spot. Scorers for Old Town were Dean Hobbis (5), Lewis Saunders (3), Giancarlo Carpinelli (2), Gareth Lovell, Greg Warren, Alex Brunnen and Joe Skudlarz.
Malmesbury ended their season with a comfortable 6-2 win at Croft.
Under 12 DivISION 2
Stratton Youth consolidated fifth position with a comfortable 6-1 win at Blunsdon. Steven Larner scored four times with Chris Reynolds and James Smith adding one a piece.
Greenmeadow were 2-1 winners at Stratton Juniors to secure third spot.
Under 11 Central
The final league match of the season saw Ferndale Rodbourne Pumas secure third spot with a hard fought 4-3 win at nearest rivals Greenmeadow. Ben Moore, Ryan Jones and Connor Moody scoring for the home side and Sam Jones (2), Josh Parsons and Richard Toomey for Ferndale.
Under 10 North
Shrivenham & Watchfield and Fairford A shared the points in a 1-1 draw, Robert Shaw scoring for Shrivenham and Aiden New for Fairford.
Under 10 West
FC Abbey Meads completed their league programme and currently sit in second place after a 4-2 home win over Wootton Bassett Town, thanks to goals from Danny Hale (2), Ben Parkinson and Jack Willoughby. Ryan Allen got both Bassett goals.
Two goals apiece from Julian De Boer and Luke Keen were enough to give Ramsbury a 4-2 home win over Malmesbury.
Under 9 North
Champions Cirencester Juniors extended their lead at the top with a comfortable 5-1 win over Uffington United thanks to goals from Jack Smith (2), Dan Warriner, Fraser Gardiner and Tommy Bond.
In a busy weekend for Uffington, they drew 2-2 with Cricklade Cubs on Saturday, Joe Hilliard and Jordan Read scoring.
The prolific Oliver Hooton kept Blunsdon Colts in third spot with all four goals in their 4-1 win at Lydiard Youth B for whom Lewis Watts scored.
Ashton Keynes warmed up for the cup final with a 4-0 home win over Fairford, Daniel Roberts and Patrick Humphreys both scoring twice.
In the battle of the bottom two, Highworth Juniors were 2-0 winners over Coleshill Juniors.
Under 9 West
In a flurry of games over the weekend the title was decided with Wootton Bassett Town triumphing.
On Friday Bassett defeated Cricklade Colts 8-1 with Aaron Oakley scoring three, Josh Shama and Nick Buckle twice and Craig White also scoring. John McDonald scored the consolation for Cricklade.
This win meant Bassett at a minimum had a play-off for the title. On Saturday Greenmeadow kept the pressure on Bassett with a 2-0 win at third-placed Westbrook, Carl Lewington and Dominic Randall the scorers.
On Sunday Greenmeadow had another tough game against Swindon Badgers and having to play so many games in the closing weeks of the season finally took its toll when Badgers put in a tremendous performance to win 5-0 to give Wootton Bassett the title.
Adam Wooley was the star of the show for Badgers scoring a hat-trick, Daniel Dicks and an own goal also finding the net.
Goals from Callum Fitzgerald, Braydon Cleverley and Chris Middlecoate saw Westbrook end their season on a winning note.
In the other game played over the weekend, Purton were comfortable 6-0 winners at Shaw. Scorers for Purton were Eddie Gibson and Peter Ellis, both scoring hat-tricks. The first goal for Gibson came straight from the kick off in less than 10 seconds.
Under 9 Central
Swindon Soccer Skills made sure of a least a play-off for the title with a comprehensive 13-0 win over Greenmeadow Colts.
One more point will see them clinch the title outright.
Ferndale Rodbourne moved up into second spot with two wins over the weekend.
On Friday night they defeated Stratton Juniors 7-0 courtesy of goals from Jake Johns (3), Liam Gallagher (2), Jack Allen (2) and Michael Birkenshaw.
On Sunday they then won 2-0 at Old Town United.
Greenmeadow Colts were 4-2 winners over Eastville Boys for whom Mason Koral scored both goals.
In the other match played, Lydiard Youth A were 4-1 winners over Croft Juniors.
