Jamie Boswell is the first to congratulate Stuart Findlay after another Heath goal. DA5382P7.HEATH striker Stuart Findlay took his tally for the season through the 40-goal barrier with a stunning quartet against Moneyfields at a sun-drenched Western Way, writes Mike Turner.

Findlay, who has now scored in 28 of his side's 53 games during the campaign so far, signalled his intent as early as the third minute when he waltzed through the Moneyfields backline, only to fire straight at visiting 'keeper Peter Houkes.

Strike partner Neil Cole went close a minute later, firing over the bar after a scintillating move which deserved a better ending.

Despite their early domination, Harlequins did not have things all their own way and had the woodwork to thank for denying Wayne Emery who had beaten Scott Kemmis with a clever lob from just outside the box.

However, Findlay helped settle Heath's nerves on 34 minutes.

Good work by Cole on the right resulted in his cross being deflected into the path of Findlay who gave Houkes no chance with a first time shot.

Still the Portsmouth side pressed and Kemmis was forced to make a stunning double save, first from Miles Rutherford and then from Lee Mould following up as the home defence were caught staring into the sun.

In what was proving an end-to-end half, his opposite number Houkes thwarted an Ian Chalke effort on 42 minutes.

In injury time, Money-fields' first corner of the game almost led to Heath doubling their lead.

Sean Wain's poor kick was easily claimed by Kemmis. His instant lengthy clearance was pure route one, giving Findlay a straight race to the ball against the out-rushing Houkes.

Findlay won the challenge, but with an open net gaping, he watched in horror as the ball drifted wide of the target.

The miss brought the first half to a close but he didn't have long to wait to make amends.

Three minutes after the break he chalked up number 40 for the term, prompting enthusiastic celebrations from his delighted team mates.

Just before the hour mark he was involved in Bemerton's third. A neat one-two with substitute Paul Palmer, on for Carl Jones, resulted in the ball being unselfishly squared for Cole to slam home.

Findlay completed his hat-trick on 64 minutes with another classy finish.

But the striker saved his best until last.

Cole was again the pro-vider. He slipped past his marker before putting the ball into the danger zone. Quick as a flash, Findlay pounced and drove the ball between a static Houkes and the near post.

The goal marked the first occasion Heath had hit five in a game all season and momentarily gave them a level goal difference.

However, Calvin Scott's consolation effort on 82 minutes condemned them to a minus one league tally.

Young Jack Slade, who had earlier replaced Nathan Renyard, did his best to restore parity, but his rocket from the right sailed just wide of the target.
